Upgraded version of Quansheng UV-K5 . It is new in 2023. It can work in the 18-1300 MHz range for receiving and transmitting.

The Quansheng UV-K5 (8) is a reliable and high-quality radio that can be an ideal choice for a variety of consumers. It operates in two bands: 136-174MHz and 400-470MHz, and also has the unique ability to receive signals in an extended band from 50 to 600MHz, including air and river bands.

One of the key features of this device is the ability to adjust the transmit power to three levels, including the highest setting of 5 watts. The Quansheng UV-K5(8)'s backlit monochrome display conserves battery power and displays two operating frequencies, A and B.

The radio features a MIC GAIN function for microphone level control, a built-in scrambler, password protection, NOAA weather alert, automatic/manual emergency alarm, and a built-in frequency counter. The radio's menu contains 51 items easily accessed via the "M" button below the display.

The Quansheng UV-K5(8) is equipped with a 7.2V/1600mAh battery, and can be charged using the included charger or the USB-C cable that plugs into the side of the radio. It's important to note that the USB charging cable should not be connected to the cradle without the battery connected. The manufacturer recommends charging with the radio turned off and removing the battery after a full charge for proper use and extended battery life. Despite the relatively small battery capacity, the radio boasts high energy efficiency, ensuring long-term operation with a slow battery discharge.
